Cancer screening: skin and CQI sustainability

Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) invites general practitioners and practice staff to attend an educational event presented by Associate Professor Jim Muir - Specialist Dermatologist.

The focus of the evening will be prevention, early intervention, and management of skin cancer. Conclusions and findings from the Cancer Screening continuous quality improvement (CQI) program will also be discussed

Every year, in Australia skin cancer accounts for around 80 per cent of all newly diagnosed cancers and the majority of skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun.

Learning outcomes:

  • identify the benefits of skin cancer checks
  • identify an ‘acute rash’
  • identify the benefits of same day procedures in skin disease.
