This one day active learning module (ALM) will cover a range of musculoskeletal conditions , treatments and the coordination of a multidisciplinary team Thanks to the very generous gift from the ‘ Dr Bruce Roberts Bequest ‘ to support education for rural and regional Queensland GPs, this workshop has been
significantly discounted for RACGP members Facilitators will discuss osteoarthritis, tendinopathies, exercise prescription, acute injuries, as well as the pharmacological and non pharmacological management of chronic pain. As a part of the ALM, attendees will participate in workshop based
learning, physical examinations, round table discussions and case studies Relevance to General Practice
Musculoskeletal conditions comprise some of the most commonly managed health concerns in general practice. According to General Practice: Health of the Nation 2019, musculoskeletal conditions are the second highest health issue that patients talk to their GP about.

Patients with these conditions have higher rates of poor health, psychological distress and reduced participation in work and education. Pain resulting from chronic musculoskeletal conditions is a major health problem, which affects approximately 30% of the population.

General practitioners and other primary care health workers play a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of musculoskeletal conditions and associated pain.

Note: ALMs require participants to complete online predisposing and reinforcing activities on top of full workshop attendance.
