NQPHN recognises the important contribution practice nurses make within the primary healthcare sector. NQPHN aims to support and strengthen the role of nurses working in general practice by providing access to education, professional development, assistance with government initiatives, assistance in Chronic Conditions Management (CCM), and networking through peer group meetings.

Objectives

  • Support nurse leadership roles in general practice
  • Provide information on government initiatives
  • Enhance communication through practice nurse networks, newsletters, emails and education workshops
  • Provide templates and resources for improving patient outcomes
  • Notification of available scholarships
  • Provide links to the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) (apna.asn.au), which is the peak professional association for nurses working in primary health care, including general practice.

  • Professional indemnity insurance arrangements

  • Endorsement of nurse practitioner
