Aged Care and Dementia Symposium

To support healthy ageing and recognise dementia and the impacts it has on our community, Mackay Hospital and Health Service, together with Northern Queensland Primary Health Network, invite health and aged care professionals and providers to attend the Aged Care and Dementia Symposium.

Guided by the theme, topics will include:

  • Capacity determination in dementia – Dr Edward Strivens
  • Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia and the role of the Specialist Dementia Care Program – Dr Alok Rana and Heather L’Huillier, Dementia Support Australia
  • Comprehensive geriatric assessments – Dr Hannah Brownstein, Geriatric Care Australia
  • Client services for the Mackay, Isaac, and Whitsunday communities – Dana Haywood, Dementia Australia.

Bursaries will be considered on application for primary care and community care attendees located in MMM4-7 regions.

Please register by close of business, Thursday 9 May 2024 for catering purposes.
