Join CheckUP for their Free Skin Cancer Early Detection Workshop in Mackay.

Facilitated by Dr Jeremy Hudson, the workshop will cover essentials in skin cancer medicine and surgery, featuring a core theory session covering topics such as:

• basics of dermoscopy and diagnosing common skin lesions
• sampling lesions effectively
• using algorithms; three point checklist, and prediction without pigment
• case discussions (participants are welcome to being their own cases to discuss).

And a hands-on practical session, covering:

• injecting local anaesthetic
• performing curettes, shave and punch biopsies
• elliptical excision planning, and closure
• suturing - basic interrupted, deep dermal, pulley sutures, haemostatic stitch.
