Primary care provider induction to RACF service provision

Posted Friday 26 April 2024 | Northern Queensland Primary Health Network

Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) invites general practitioners (GPs) to attend one of three webinars providing an introduction and orientation on how to engage and prepare for a visit to residential aged care facilities (RACFs) in your local area.

With an ageing population and the release of the report into Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, a need for more primary care services to be accessible to those living in RACFs is evident.

Presented by AGPAL subject matter expert Dr Paresh Dawda, the webinar will cover:

  • preparing for your visit – key stakeholders to connect with and who to coordinate your
    visit with
  • what to expect when you visit an RACF when providing GP services
  • shared care planning
  • safe communication and collaboration with RACF staff.

This webinar is a part of the NQPHN Aged Care GP Support and Capacity Building Initiative.
