Telehealth Skills ECHO - Virtual Care for older Australians (Telehealth and Aged Care)

Delivering practical telehealth online education to support the development and implementation of clinical telehealth services across northern Australia.

What is Telehealth Skills ECHO? 

  • A series of free, interactive, virtual mentoring sessions to support telehealth service design and delivery in various healthcare settings.
  • A virtual peer network to share telehealth knowledge and experiences, promoting the use of telehealth to improve access to quality healthcare for northern Australia.
  • Sessions are open to all working in healthcare in Northern Australia who are using or considering using telehealth services.
  • Regular monthly sessions: the second Thursday of each month, 1pm-2pm (AEST).

Monthly sessions

  • 10-minute presentations: Insights on various topics from telehealth experts.
  • Case study discussions: Participants to share their real-life experiences and situations for discussion amongst the group.
  • Q&A and dialogue: Everyone can join the conversation and share thoughts and experiences.

  • Topic: Comparing telephone and video – advice on choosing the best modality.
  • Presenter: Dr Annie Banbury, Centre for Online Health, University of Queensland.

Presenter profile

Dr Annie Banbury is an academic who works in industry and the university sector. Annie comes from a public health background. Her work in digital health includes developing and delivering telehealth interventions, large-scale service evaluations, and workforce development. Recently, she has been leading the training of residential aged care homes on using Healthdirect Video Call.
