Posted Friday 17 May 2024 | The Australian Endorsed Midwife Conference

Now in its third year of supporting endorsed and registered midwives, the Australian Endorsed Midwife Conference 2023 will be held in tropical Townsville this year on 29-30 July.

This year’s conference is hosted by Midwives Australia and will feature an amazing line-up of speakers from across Australia, including Professor Cate Nagel- Director of the Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Research and the Academic Lead (Research) for Nursing and Midwifery at James Cook University, Dr Hazel Keedle- Lecturer, academic course advisor and author and Liz Wilkes- Managing Director of the largest private midwifery group in Australia, My Midwives.

Conference hosts, Midwives Australia, provide midwives in private practice and continuity of care with support, advocacy and guidance. Midwives Australia is supported by consumers and enhanced by educators, marketers, administrators, and accountants who all assist midwives in generating successful practices and pivotal roles in their communities.

The 2023 Australian Endorsed Midwife Conference will be held at Rydges Southbank in Townsville and provides an opportunity for endorsed midwives to achieve their mandatory yearly professional development and registered midwives a great chance to explore career options and grow their knowledge of options available for women and their families.

With endorsed midwives making up an increasing percentage of the workforce providing health care to women in the perinatal period, this is a popular career choice for midwives wanting to work to their full scope of practice  and the Australian Endorsed Midwife Conference gives registered midwives actionable information about how to take the next step to this rewarding career.
