Cairns Urgent Care Clinic (Medicare Urgent Care Clinic) is located in suburb of Edmonton and offers acute care and treatment for conditions that are not life-threatening but require urgent assistance.

The clinic is open 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm weekdays and 9am to 6pm on weekends.

We are currently seeking experienced RNs to join the team on a full-time or part-time basis.

About the role

The role will be responsible for identifying and triaging suitable patients and providing front-line care while working alongside our General Practitioners.

Duties include

  • Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments to efficiently triage patients.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care and take decisive actions for patients requiring emergency attention or experiencing health deterioration.
  • Offer healthcare-related education to patients as needed.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and promptly.

To be considered you must have the following:

  • A clinical background in Urgent Care/ Emergency Care or Rural General Practice.
  • Providing compassion, empathy and understanding to patients and their families whilst maintaining a professional approach.
  • Be a team player with strong critical thinking skills, who can work both independently and collaboratively in our dynamic team environment.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation
  • Flexibility to work across all shifts/days.
  • Current ALS/CPR
  • AHPRA Registration.

We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth operations while maintaining our commitment to exceptional patient care and continuous improvement.

About the role

  • Full-time role, managing both general practice clinic and allied health clinic (located 50m away).

About you

Key selection criteria

  • Proven experience in a Practice Manager or similar role within a healthcare setting.
  • Diploma of Practice Management or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Solid understanding of medical billing, financial management, and budgeting, preferably within a general practice setting.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, GP accreditation, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in HR/payroll and all aspects of employee management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Best Practice and Automed software is highly desirable
