A wonderful opportunity is now present for a Medical Admin worker who is passionate about helping others make positive changes in their lives to join our supportive team. This position would suit someone that thrives in a busy environment with exciting and rewarding challenges ahead. Each day will look different however this position will include but not limited to:

  • available 30+ hours a week on a rotating roster (may include weekends)
  • being the first point of contact for all our medical companies and candidates (in-person, call, and email)
  • giving patients the quality care associated with Cairns GP Medical Centre
  • assisting patients to make and amend bookings, general preparation, and billing information relating to the procedure
  • assisting with booking medical assessments 
  • developing and growing the medical team – training and supervising staff in pre-employment medical
  • liaising/coordinating with companies and health professionals
  • outreach to new companies, health professionals, and service providers
  • developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards for medical and administrative staff.

Knowledge and experience

  • Previous medical receptionist (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of pre-employment/occupational medicals (highly desirable).
  • Previous experience with training new staff (highly desirable).
  • Ability to manage high-volume calls.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Best Practice (highly desirable).
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
